Dr. Mark D’Andrea Wins 2014 awards, on-time, prompt, patient, cancer

Dr. D’Andrea is at it again – this time winning a coveted award from Vitals.com. The award is given to those physicians who know just how to manage their calendars to keep their patients from waiting too long before being seen. It is a tremendous honor, and one that Dr. D’Andrea prides himself on, not only because of his promptness, but by the fact that the On-Time Doctor Award is based primarily on patient reviews. Everyone at University Cancer Centers (UCC) knows that Dr. D’Andrea treats his patients more like family, and it can definitely be felt in every aspect of a patient visit, from his expertly managed schedule down to his attention to detail during a consultation or routine visit.

At Vitals.com hundreds of thousands of doctors are reviewed and rated by patients based on their experience, which includes bedside manner, doctor-patient face time and degree of follow-up. Based on their reviews Vitals will analyze the ratings each year, and determine the quality of each doctor, which results in identifying the annual winner of doctor awards. It is a great honor to be selected for a Vitals Award as the criteria is something few doctors meet. Vitals has a high standard for their awards, especially the On-Time Doctor award.

Did you know that the national average wait time in 2014 to see a patient was 20 minutes and 16 seconds? That’s a lot of time spent thumbing through magazines or hunched over your smartphone. What if we told you that a Vitals On-Time Doctor had an average wait time of just 11 minutes? That seems almost too good to be true, right? Well, believe it – because Dr. D’Andrea has the patient reviews to back it up.

One of the reasons that patients dread going to the doctor is the unusually long wait times that usually accompany a visit. Who has time to sit and wait for 20 minutes or more just to be seen by a doctor for what seems like a rush visit? Not a lot of people look forward to setting up shop in a waiting room, and over 10% of people say that it’s one of the main reasons to find a new doctor.

Patients who trust Dr. D’Andrea know that they are in good hands. Dr. D’Andrea runs an efficient practice, one that functions like a well-oiled machine thanks to expert staff who understands the importance of schedules and wants their patients to be taken care of in a professional and punctual manner.

Trust University Cancer Centers to not only give you a quality experience every visit, but also knows that their patients have places to be and people to see. At UCC, patients never have to worry about waiting too long to be seen. They can come in, receive expert advice and treatment and get back to their hectic lives.

A cancer diagnosis doesn’t mean that your life stops. It merely means that patients need a stricter schedule to get the treatment they need and get on the road to recovery. It is an honor to be nominated and to win the Vitals 2014 On-Time Doctor Award.
