There is a new addition to the team of board certified physicians here at University Cancer Centers. Please join us in welcoming Dr. Mohsin Qayyum, MD, MBA to the UCC family. Dr. Qayyum comes to us with his certification courtesy of the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology in Adult Psychiatry and Geriatric Psychiatry. He has the experience our patients have come to expect of our physicians and the credentials that make him a great asset to our patients.
Dr. Qayyum completed his residency training in Psychiatry at the University of Chicago Hospitals. His fellowship training in Geriatric Psychiatry was finalized at the Western Psychiatric Institute & Clinics in Pittsburgh. He also holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Chicago. His astute knowledge of the medical field gives him an advantage when it comes to advising cancer patients on their road to recovery.

Dr. Qayyum is also certified to perform Outpatient Narcotics Detoxification and Maintenance Treatment by using Buprenorphine. He will be instrumental in offering counseling for patients and their families to ensure that they are receiving the physical and emotional care to overcome their diagnosis and fight back against cancer. He has the ability to develop an excellent rapport with patients. The relationships he develops are lifelong, and even after a patient has recovered he makes himself available to address any questions or concerns they may have during, and after treatment and recovery.
Some of Dr. Qayyum’s accolades include a position as Medical Director at CIGNA. The management expertise he possesses make him a talented individual to have on staff as he has an in depth outlook on the insurance industry. He has also worked with major US corporations to assist them with disability management and work place mental health issues. He is available for consultation in work-related Workers’ Compensation issues, Absenteeism, Presenteeism and Psychiatric Disabilities.
